April 29, 2008 - Press releases
Montreal, April 15, 2008 — Énergir is enthusiastically participating as a first-time sponsor of the 2008 edition of the Montreal Bike Fest.
With its Aires bleues Info-Féria Énergir concept, Énergir is involved with the Festival’s entire information program. In addition to serving as centres for providing useful information to participants on the various sites, these areas, in the form of small homes, will welcome them in blue.
As part of Operation Bike-to-Work, one of the four scheduled events during the Montreal Bike Fest week, Énergir will work in tandem with SOS Vélo to promote bicycle recycling.
“Biking provides us with a terrific opportunity to promote a healthy lifestyle in terms of both physical exercise and sustainable transportation. We will also use this opportunity to invite the pubic to make an important gesture by turning in their old bicycles for recycling,” says Guylaine Lehoux, Énergir’s Vice President, Marketing and Public Affairs.
On Wednesday, May 28, people can bring their old bicycles to Parc La Fontaine (Rachel, corner De Brébeuf) or to Énergir’s head office (1717 du Havre) between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. For each bicycle turned in, Énergir will give out a coupon to participate in a draw for a bicycle adventure tour for two worth $1,000. The winner can choose from among the weekend adventure tours offered by Vélo Québec Voyages in the various regions of the Province.
Énergir is working with SOS Vélo to collect bicycles. The team at SOS Vélo, a non-profit organization dedicated to the social and employment reintegration of young adults with integration difficulties, will give a second life to the bicycles turned in on May 28.
This is a tremendous opportunity for Énergir to demonstrate its commitment to the community and make a contribution to building a better life.
