President and Chief Executive Officer

Sophie Brochu

Ms. Brochu has been active in the energy industry for 30 years. Graduate in economics from Université Laval, she began her career in 1987 at SOQUIP (Société québécoise d’initiatives pétrolières). In 1997, she joined Énergir, as Vice President, Business Development. After holding various positions in the company, she became President and Chief Executive Officer of Énergir, position she is holding since 2007. Ms. Brochu sits on the Board of Directors of Bank of Montreal, Bell Canada and BCE Inc. Involved with Centraide of Greater Montreal, Ms. Brochu is the Chair of Forces Avenir which promotes students involvement in their communities. She is cofounder of “ruelle de l’avenir”, a project aimed at encouraging students in the Centre-Sud and Hochelaga neighbourhoods of Montréal to remain in school. Finally, she sits on the Board of Directors of La Fondation Lucie et André Chagnon. Ms. Brochu is a member of the Order of Canada.

Senior Vice President, Talents and Governance

Caroll Carle

Mr. Caroll Carle was appointed Senior Vice President, Talents and Governance in January 2017. Previously, he was Vice President Employees and Culture since January 2012 and was given responsibility for Environmental Oversight in November 2012. He joined Énergir in 2007 as Director, Performance Support and Employee Relations. After studying psychology and social communications at the University of Ottawa, he accrued more than 25 years of experience in various executive positions in human resources and labour relations at large companies operating in Canada—specifically Culinar, Noranda, Nabisco, Nav Canada and Sun Media. Mr. Carle has worked in every province, under both federal and provincial jurisdiction. With more than 200 negotiations to his credit, he has extensive expertise in labour relations and in human resources management in areas such as compensation, succession planning, training, recruitment and performance management.

Senior Vice-president, Integrated Risk Management

Pierre Fortin

Mr. Pierre Fortin joined the Énergir team in September 2015 as Vice President, Risk Management and Internal Audit and was appointed Senior Vice President on January 1, 2017. He is responsible for maintaining sound risk management practices. In this capacity, he develops various tools to support decision making and to quantify integrated risks associated with the company's strategic challenges and business plan. He also helps conduct cost/benefit analyses for major investment projects.
He has over 20 years' experience in the energy sector, including more than 15 years in risk management. He held various positions at Hydro-Québec, including that of Senior Director, Risk Analysis and Management from 2007 to 2015. His key achievements include implementing information systems and setting up specialized teams to manage the risks associated with Hydro-Québec Production's energy trading floor, and those related to the regulated divisions. Mr. Fortin also worked at SOQUIP and at Québec's Ministère des Finances.
Mr. Fortin holds a bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA in finance, both from Université Laval. He is a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec.

Senior Vice President, Development, Communities, Corporate Affairs and Safety

Martin Imbleau

Mr. Imbleau has been Senior Vice President, Development, Communities, Corporate Affairs and Safety for Énergir since June 1, 2018. He is responsible for identifying and managing strategic business opportunities, as well as new energies. He is also notably responsible for Major Projects, Sustainable Development, Public, Governmental and Legal Affairs, as well as Corporate Secretariat, Safety, along with the company’s Strategic Planning. He has been with Énergir since 1996.
Mr. Imbleau chairs some of Énergir’s subsidiaries, including Énergir’s wind power and Intragaz. He sits on the Board of Directors of Vermont Gas, Trans Québec & Maritimes and Portland Natural Gas Transmission System. He also chairs the UQAM’s Raoul-Dandurand Chair in strategic and diplomatic studies, as well as the HEC Montréal’s Energy Sector Management Chair. He also sits on the Board of Directors of CIRANO, Forces Avenir and Lawyers without borders Canada.
Mr. Imbleau holds a master’s degree in law from the Université de Montréal and is a member of the Barreau du Québec. He has authored several books and articles on international human rights law.

Senior Vice President, Regulatory, IT, Logistics and Chief Financial Officer

Éric Lachance

Mr. Éric Lachance joined Énergir in January 2017 as Vice President, Finance and was appointed Senior Vice President, Regulatory, IT, Logistics and Chief Financial Officer on June 1, 2018. From February 2000 to December 2016, he held various positions at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, the last  3 years as Regional Director – Europe within its subsidiary CDPQ Paris where he led the team responsible for ensuring the supervision and valuation of the Caisse’s European infrastructure investment portfolio. He represented Caisse as a board member for many portfolio companies such as Fluxys Belgium, Colonial Pipeline, Keolis and Heathrow Airport.
Mr. Lachance holds a degree in business, finance and economics from McGill University and has been a chartered financial analyst since 2000.

Senior Vice President, Customers and Operations

Stéphanie Trudeau

Stéphanie Trudeau is Senior Vice President, Customers and Operations at Énergir. When she was appointed Vice President in October 2012, she was given responsibility for sustainable development and public and governmental affairs. In the following years were added marketing and innovation, customer services, regulatory affairs, rate structure, sales and market development. A reorganization in June 2018 gave her new responsibilities for Customers and Operations vice-presidencies, which include sales, marketing, customer services, new construction, engineering, geomatics, network maintenance, and regional business offices. A communication expert and seasoned strategist, Stéphanie previously was Vice President, Public Affairs – Quebec at Labatt Brewing Company Ltd., Director, Public Affairs at the SAQ, and Director, Community Relations, for the Rabaska project.
Stéphanie chairs the boards of Gaz Métro Plus, CCUM, and Soupe pour elles. She is vice president of the board of the FCCQ. She is a member of the Québec Minister Isabelle Melançon’s Climate Change Advisory Committee, the Conseil des parrains of the JCCM, and ambassador of La Ruche Montréal, a crowdfunding organization.

Vice President, Employees and Culture

Claudine Beaudet

Claudine Beaudet is the Assistant Vice President, Employees and Culture. She manages the total compensation, talent acquisition, and business partner teams as well as the École de technologie gazière. She is part of the management team and has a seat on Énergir’s management committee.
She previously held the post of Vice President of Talent Management at the Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec, where she helped transform the institution between 2010 and 2017.
Her field is human resources, specifically supervision of business partner teams, compensation, labour relations, talent acquisition, training, organizational development and occupational health and safety. Diversity and inclusion are also part of her work with the company.
Ms. Beaudet has more than 25 years of experience in human resources management during organizational transformations. She has developed the skills to support businesses such as Agropur, Énergir and the Caisse de dépôt et de placement du Québec during large-scale changes. In doing so, she supported numerous managers in the development and implementation of management practices aimed at supporting organizational and cultural transformation and employee mobilization. She was also responsible for the human resources component during the creation of eight international business offices at the CDPQ.
Ms. Beaudet holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial relations from the Université de Montréal and is a member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (OCRHA).

Vice President, Major Projects and Development of emerging markets

Étienne Champagne

Mr. Étienne Champagne started his career at Boralex in 2003 after studies in mechanical engineering at the Université Laval. While with the company, he held the positions of Project Manager, Director of Wind Farm Development and Project Director notably for the Seigneurie de Beaupré Wind Farm. In April 2016, he joined Énergir as Senior Director, Development, and was promoted to Vice President, Construction and Development of emerging markets in January 2017. In June 2018, he was appointed Vice President, Major Projects and Development of emerging markets.
Over the years, Mr. Champagne has participated in developing and implementing many natural gas, biomass, and wind energy sites in Canada and in the United States. He has built up extensive experience in acquisitions, commercial negotiations, and project financial and technical planning.
He is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and earned an MBA from the Université de Sherbrooke.

Vice President, Sustainability, Public & Government Affairs

Frédéric Krikorian

Mr. Frédéric Krikorian has been Vice President, Sustainability, Public & Government Affairs since June 1, 2018. He has nearly 20 years of experience in public affairs and as well as experience in corporate social responsibility, specifically in the energy and resource sector. He worked in government sectors and with associations before joining Énergir in 2005 as Spokesperson and Advisor, Public Affairs. He later assumed the role of Manager, Renewable Energy, and was in charge of developing renewable energy projects. He was subsequently promoted to Director, Sustainable Development, and Public and Governmental Affairs in 2012.
Frédéric has a master’s degree in Corporate Social Responsibility from the International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility at the Nottingham University Business School in the United Kingdom. He has participated in conferences and written articles on implementing social responsibility practices and strategies for companies in the energy sector.
He sits on the board of directors of Ruelle de l’avenir, Quebec Business Council on the Environment (CPEQ), SWITCH, l’Alliance pour une économie verte au Québec and the Association industrielle de l’Est de Montréal (AIEM), and is a member of the energy and sustainable development committees of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ).

Assistant Vice President, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary

Nathalie Longval

Ms. Nathalie Longval has been Assistant Vice President, Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary since January 1, 2017. She is responsible for the company’s governance files and all the legal aspects of Énergir’s activities. Ms. Longval began her career at Énergir in 1989 as legal counsel, before going on to hold various manager and director positions within the company’s Legal Affairs department.
Ms. Longval has been a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1988. Through her 25 years of service at Énergir, she has acquired a broad knowledge of the company and its operations, and has contributed greatly to its growth over time.

Vice President, Sales and Market Development

Renault Lortie

Mr. Renault Lortie has been Vice President, Sales and Market Development since January 2017. He joined the Énergir team in 2014 as Director, Sales Major Industries and was promoted to Senior Director, Sales and Market Development in 2016. Previously employed by KPMG and SECOR Consulting as Partner in strategic planning, Mr. Lortie is an expert in the energy, mining and forestry sectors. On numerous occasions throughout his career, he has been a facilitator in the development of natural resources and northern Québec.
Mr. Lortie holds an MBA from HEC Montréal and is a member of the Barreau du Québec. In 2014, he won the ARISTA Provincial Contest in the Quebec Young Executive category and in 2012, the “Prix Relève d’Excellence” from HEC Montreal. He is currently a member of the boards of directors of the Montreal Canadian Club and the Quebec Mineral Exploration Association (QMEA) as well as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Natural Gas Technologies Centre (NGTC).

Vice President, IT and Logistics

Richard Roy

Mr. Richard Roy joined the Énergir team in October 2016 as Vice President, Information Technologies and Logistics. Before joining Énergir, Mr. Roy was Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Quebecor and its subsidiaries for more than 10 years.
He is responsible for managing Information Technologies and Logistics (including goods and services supply chain, contractor contracts, and building and vehicle fleet management), among other duties.
After studying business administration, marketing and informatics at the Université du Québec en Outaouais and the Université du Québec à Montréal, he accumulated more than 20 years of experience in IT and supply management at major companies such as Bell Canada, Fido (Microcell), Rogers and Quebecor.

Vice President, Operations

Stéphane Santerre

Mr. Stéphane Santerre joined the Énergir team in 2001 as Supervisor of Operations. In 2012, he was made Director, Network Maintenance and Eastern Quebec Business Offices. Following his May 27 2014 nomination to Sales Director, Major Accounts and Datech Group, he was promoted Head of Operations in March 2016. Since January 2017, Mr. Santerre has been named Vice President, Operations; he oversees the full range of operations regarding the network, LSR plant, transmission, construction, and network and measurement engineering.
Before joining Énergir, Mr. Santerre had worked eight years at Alstom, where he held various positions in a crescendo of responsibility, ultimately as Operations Manager at Work Site Erection and After-Sales Services. Mr. Santerre’s credentials are in Mechanical Engineering (1993).
