The arrival of natural gas in the region will result in an annual reduction of more than 2,000 tonnes of GHGs, in addition to significantly reducing emissions of air pollutants. Consumers could ultimately save $2 million in annual energy costs.
This gas network extension project will provide the Chaudière-Appalaches region with the infrastructure and potential to participate in Québec’s energy transition with the production and consumption of local and renewable natural gas.
The work will be carried out by the contractor Pomerleau.

Public information sessions had been scheduled for March 16 and 17 in Saint Charles-de-Bellechasse and Montmagny.
Because of COVID-19, they had to be cancelled in order to comply with the government’s recommendations regarding the pandemic.
That said, we want to stay in touch with the community before the work begins and to gather questions and comments.
