Louis McNeil opened the first Cosmos restaurant over 20 years ago. This “modern tavern” in Sainte-Foy rapidly became one of the Québec City region’s iconic chains. When McNeil converted his four restaurants to natural gas, Énergir guided him through the process.

Besides cooking food perfectly, natural gas offers excellent energy performance. Louis McNeil recalls, “We once tried an electric stovetop. By the time it got hot enough to fry an egg, an entire breakfast had already been cooked on the natural gas stove!” Even apart from its energy performance and cost, natural gas is efficiency itself. “My cooks can make the food faster, so my servers are constantly moving and my customers are served quickly. A satisfied customer is a return customer.”
It’s clearly the most affordable option. And it’s a beautiful energy source! If I could, I’d do everything with natural gas. Unfortunately I haven’t yet figured out a way to make natural gas power a light bulb!
