It’s clearly the most affordable option. And it’s a beautiful energy source! If I could, I’d do everything with natural gas. Unfortunately I haven’t yet figured out a way to make natural gas power a light bulb!

Louis McNeil opened the first Cosmos restaurant over 20 years ago. This “modern tavern” in Sainte-Foy rapidly became one of the Québec City region’s iconic chains. When McNeil converted his four restaurants to natural gas, Énergir guided him through the process.

Only buildings within proximity of the natural gas network are eligible for the grant. . To benefit from the grant, you must submit a signed contract for the distribution and sale of natural gas to the contractor in charge of the work or to the Énergir representative. Grants will only be paid once the natural gas equipment is installed. A five-year natural gas supply contract is required. The eligibility criteria are listed in the Consumption Rebate Program guide approved by the Régie de l’énergie, a copy of which may be obtained on request. Grant amounts must not exceed eligible expenses. Program conditions and grant amounts may also be subject to change without prior notice.
