Énergir’s natural gas supply tariff, often called system gas, reflects the actual acquisition cost paid to suppliers. Énergir purchases natural gas from several suppliers through contracts of various durations. Customers can also do business with a supplier of their choice, and must then negotiate their contract directly with the natural gas supplier.
All Énergir customers are charged the same rate, regardless of their category, geographic location or volume consumed.
In an effort to reduce the magnitude of monthly fluctuations, Énergir bases its tariff on the following:
- the forecast cost of natural gas over the next 12 months;
- the cumulative spread between the actual acquisition cost and the tariff in effect.
